October…that time of the year in Louisiana when temperatures tend to have mood swings. Most mornings the air is cool enough to turn the heat on, and in the afternoons the A/C unit will work overtime to get the heat out. However Andrew & Makenna’s romantic fall wedding in North Louisiana, the weather was on it’s best behavior. The day felt like a warm 70 degrees with just enough of a cool breeze to calm down any wedding day sweats.

Venue Details

The Dixie Gin a rustic outdoor space located right outside of Shreveport, Louisiana. Brides looking for a venue full of southern charm and a touch of industrialism, this is the one for you. The chapel is an open metal building set outside featuring a metal chandelier, ivory curtains draped above, and a wooden cross at the altar. The Reception area features rustic decor, industrial string lights through out, and a large dance floor under the main chandelier! Without spoiling any more details…

Take A Look At Andrew & Makenna’s Romantic Fall Wedding

Makenna’s dress was a layered chiffon A-line with bishop sleeves & little pearl details on her hand cuffs that matched her cathedral length pearl veil. Her bridesmaids wore a palette of deep reds, sunny yellows, blush pinks, and warm oranges.

Andrew was styling with an emerald green suit accompanied by tan shoes & paired a floral tie to complete the look. His groomsmen wore tan colored suits with burnt orange ties to pull it all together. (Andrew just about lost his life when I told the groomsmen to run & hoist him up as if he won a Championship.)

As the crowd of guests arrive catching up with each other & chatting over how lovely the details have come together. Andrew & Makenna are hidden away to share a heart felt first touch before the ceremony.

Nerves were high, butterflies were fluttering, and tears of immense joy started to roll down their cheeks as Andrew reached for Makenna’s hand. (I don’t even know how I got these photos…since I was also bawling my eyes out!)
